Kone 2008 JANUARY chart

———minimal ———
Meat Katie/D.Ramirez – Stop The Revolution (Dubfire’s Arrowhead Dub (Extended Mix)) (LOT49)
Just a monster track! Energy and minimalism.

Maskio – Human Jungle (Santos (Italy) re-edit) (Hell Yeah)
“Afro-minimal”, as I call it, quite new and promising minimal techno subgenre, in it’s best fresh example. In sound design, it’s full of wild-afro-brazil-world samples and percussions, in structure it’s minimal techno. A compromise between cold electronic sounds of minimal and hot afrobeat/carnivalle atmosphere, Afro-minimal is quite interesting thing happening right now. Check some releases by Gabriel Ananda, Samim. Is it the same Santos who did great track “Tromba” couple of years ago?

Martin Buttrich – Hunted (Cocoon Recordings)
Deep stuff, very limited melodically, and I love her vocal!

Chaim – Dana (Guy Gerber rmx) (Dogtown)
OMG this one was in my September chart, in my October chart and it’s still here! Can’t stop enjoying this masterpiece, which reflects my preferences in sound so deeply!

Joseph Capriati – Oasi (Analytictrail)
A bit too primitive, but works well on dance-floor.

Note: This chart is tracks I’ve bought this month. I listen to samples of 1000-1500 tracks each week, this selection of very very ‘best of ‘. More good tracks were close to get into my shopping cart, but due to financial limit they’re left behind. I publish them as Recommended inside comment to this post, so DJs and music fans – take a note. Responsible labels can send me those tracks as promo (vinyl or wave) and I will play them in my sets.
