Perfect mixture of simple house-like bassline with spaced non-4/4 melody. Really tripy, deep and light. So simple, so powerful.

ARGY – Malena (Cocoon)
This melodic hit was played by many famous german djs who visited Space:Garage during last year, it was played by dj Baravika, and finally released. New rising producer from Greece.

SMASH TV – Yellow Asteroids (Bpitch Control)
Two years old super hit by Holger Zilske, still sounds fresh, making people dance hard and optimistic. It was out of stock and I happy to get vinyl now. When Holger played it live in Riga ZeDmitry dropped a tear. No joke.

PRYDA – Balaton (Pryda)
Another track I used to play digitaly before, but I will chart it again, because I got it on vinyl. Just great peace of music, romantic and groovy. People love it!

YEKE YEKE – Yeke Yeke (STFU remix) (unknown label)
Mory Kante got remixed on a minimal way, and this one is very well done, useful in every set, handy when you need to bring non-minimal crowd on the dancefloor.

LITTLE KIDS – The Influence (live @ The Lounge) (Little Kids)
Great fast jazzy track featuring vocalists from Jurassic 5, but don’t worry, it’s not hip hop. 210/105 bpm boogie or how to call it, perfectly mixed with Sex Machine Readymade remix.

MASHED UP FUNK – Jackson Torpedo (Mashed Up Funk)
Now I’m perfectly weaponed for requests to play Michael Jackson! Malente from Unique Rec. did a great bootleg mixture of Billie Jean acapella over funk bassline and drums. Sounds terrific! Other 3 tracks are good too.

KOOL & THE GANG – Jungle Boogie (Collectables)
Ok everybody knows this classic, thanx to Tarantino, but its great! By the way Collectables Rec. does nice job reissuing famous old tracks on 7″, with very affordable price.

A SKILLZ vs BEATVANDALS – Beat Don’t Stop (Nut)
A SKILLZ vs BEATVANDALS – Feelin Kinda Insane (Nut)
Both tracks are great. Juicy beats, like only A Skillz can do, lot of quotes, groovy basses, touchy vocals vs. raps, pure hits.

SONIA – Influencia Do Jazz (Le Smoke Disque)
MARIO CASTRO NEVES – Nana (Le Smoke Disque)
BOSSA 70 – Berimbau (Le Smoke Disque)
NICO GOMEZ – Rio (Le Smoke Disque)
All this jazz/bossanovas are from compilation called BRASIL 70. Very light mood, like a sexy breeze on paradise beach.

PROFESSOR ANGEL DUST & DA PH FORCE- Oye Como Va (Freddy Fresh rmx) (Howlin’ Records)
Nothing fresh here, this remix is back from 2001, always hard to find, but thanx to ebay, I got two copies from Freddy himself, one to be given as a present. Best track on Howling, IMHO. Latino hit meets dirty breaks.

Made about 30 years ago that music is so naive and emotional, despite its antic hardware and software base. Made with soul in every step in each 4 channel. Creating an atmosphere

“Creating an atmosphere” is what he’s famous for. “That’s my another side, I play “Bar sets”, as I call them, even more often then minimal ones. Nice sound system, music is not loud, people don’t notice it, and suddenly somebody start to dance, others join. Other DJs say I play Lounge, but for me it’s more House. Just the mood is very subtle. Like talking, or even whispering. If sceraming, than in nice, fruity way.” Eclectic light but uplifting DJ sets of Nu’Jazz, Funk, Balkan, Latino, Afrobeat are what he plays in Cuba Café (every second Wednesday and some Fridays or Saturdays) and other selected Riga’ clubs.

After very exiting trip to Belarus in March 2008 called Mooving Area: Peninsula Andrejsala, “Joy Division On The Mission” get another invitation to shake the town with gentle Baltic storm.
