Amazing deep house minimal. Great spinning against each other loops.

Mihalis Safras – Interamerica/Interafrica (Trapez Ltd)
Interamerica is this summer replic to Samim’s Heater (Join the Heaterhaterclub btw:), great balkan-flawa-groover, while Interafrica is in same vain with deeper mood, less hit, more practical. For those who like non-electronic sound in minimal.

Martin Buttrich – Cruise Control/Stoned Autopilot (Planet E)
Two masterpieces from maestro Buttrich. Real music, keeping your attention from the first beat till the last.

Holger Zilske – The Bees (Playhouse)
Holger in his style, great serious track. Nice design by Zagga.

Stephan Bodzin – Station 72/Bremen-Ost (Herzblut)
Stephan surprise us with two experimental tracks, Station 72 is light and transparent trancy voyage, going around two sincopated notes, Breamen-Ost more dark and deep. As always, his sound is 200% warm and you need to listen it from vinyl on loud sound system to understand how beautiful and unexpected both tracks are.  This is something other producers will try to copy during next year.

D’ Julz – Yo Momo (Shinedoe remix) (Intacto)
Miss Shinedoe from Amsterdam brings very soft sounding dub-like ambient house. Groovy and feminine.

Palzer & Zigon – Quid Pro Quo (Puzzle Traxx)
More deepness, more house. More sounds which slowly make you getting higher.

Richard Bartz – Buffalo Bill (unreleased)
You got to check it. This sound will blow your mind. Waiting to vinyl press.

Basicnoise – Civarga (Minimal And Melodies Music)
Basicnoise – Etheria (Minimal And Melodies Music)
Great new producer with his first digital EP. Great deep dub techno, yet very original. Watch out!

Mauro Picotto – Flashing (Alchemy)
Italian flawa here. Alittle pop, a lot of energy. Nice.

Isidoros – Martingala (Heartbeat Revolutions)
Title Martingala sounds Latvian, but track is not. Pity. I would be proud. A little pop too.

Chab & Jd Davis – Get High (The Club Science dub) (Clarisse) digital
Great deep house with touch of trance.

Gerardo Frisina – Donke De, African Nite Life, Batucadas (feat Mitoka Samba) (Schema)
Gerardo, our jazzman in Italy, never release a bad track, I play a lot of his previous material from Schema and Afro Art, and theese 3 tracks are all to be includet to my sets. Less house comparing to his previous works, beautiful, very danceable funky latino sincopated jazz.

Quarteto Magritte – Malanotte (Afro Art)
Great track, people love it, people dance to it. Released about a year ago, happy to have nice 7″ press.

Janko Nilovic – Last Impressions: The Originals (Vadim Music) (2xLP)
Best tracks: Atchika Boum, Para Papaya, Sunder Fire, Hand In Hand, Blows & Rhytthms, Soul Impression, Hommage A Pele, Week-End A Chelsea, Funky Village, Le Vent Dans Les Algues, To & Fro.

Creating an atmosphere

“Creating an atmosphere” is what he’s famous for. “That’s my another side, I play “Bar sets”, as I call them, even more often then minimal ones. Nice sound system, music is not loud, people don’t notice it, and suddenly somebody start to dance, others join. Other DJs say I play Lounge, but for me it’s more House. Just the mood is very subtle. Like talking, or even whispering. If sceraming, than in nice, fruity way.” Eclectic light but uplifting DJ sets of Nu’Jazz, Funk, Balkan, Latino, Afrobeat are what he plays in Cuba Café (every second Wednesday and some Fridays or Saturdays) and other selected Riga’ clubs.
