Xpansul – Miss Fortune (T-bet)
Positive trancy techno. Nice melody, kinda subtle and gently building track, total happiness.

Miro – African King (Dirk Dreyer Edit, Mike Rubin remix, Einmusik remix) (One Louder Berlin)
Melodic and airy neo trance. All three remixes are worth playing. Mike Rubin is behind Miro.

Dusty Kid – Klin (Boxer Recordings)
Dusty Kid is great melodist, and here we see this side of his production. Deep melancholic neo trance.

Dusty Kid – Pluk (Boxer Recordings)
Pluk from the same EP is absolutely another side of the Moon, experimental groove spinning on a uncommon tempo over 4/4 techno beat. Very possible “blow my mind” track of the night.
Train No 2 is good too, long tripy techno groover, robotic and primitive.
Check out America, great tripy epic (pity only digitally released) from Kid’ brand new album A Raver’s Diary. You may catch him on a tour now too.

Mihalis Safras – Chicas Latinas (feat Noidoi) (Great Stuff)
Funky minimal house with Latin flawa. Safras team up with Noidoi to bring us two highly danceable tracks. Chikas will love them!

Alessio Mereu – Cafe Las Vegas / Trumpet Student / Waiting for Tibet (CMYK Musik)
Alessio was one of my favorite producers for last years, I played his tracks Bingo 1 and Techno Is Brain with nice respond from crowd, and his new EP is even better. All 3 tracks are deserve to be dropped on turntable, he continue with his remarkable and unique sound, easy and light atmosphere, keeping it balanced between funky, techy, tripy and very danceable. Cafe Las Vegas would be my favourite, and Trumpet and Tibet very good too.

Kristian & Christian – Flashes (AFU Lab)
Darker and highly hypnotizing groove, great for dance-floor, great for making a set more pumping. Vocal is even scary a litte, but for a good contrast with common minimal stuff. Kristian & Christian.

Doide – Otros Tiempos (Moonpool)
They say it reminds early Detroit techno, I’m not sure about that, maybe some of ‘melodic Detroit’. For me its just right between melancholic and uplifting, with deep bass and a pop melody on top. Great melodic tune.

NuFrequency feat. Shara Nelson – Go That Deep (NRK Sound Division)
This song was around for quite a while, probably because new remixes were issued recently, I found previous version better and grabbed it from someone on discogs (great site for finding used ‘out of stock’ vinyls). I like all remixes here, Kemistry’s Shack Music Mix maybe better for funkier dance-floor, Charles Webster Acid Remix is for higher moment of the party, with its a bit harsh dark acid sound, Charles Webster Remix is better suited for after hours with its deep and atmospheric touch. You may know Shara Nelson for her collaborations with Massive Attack (‘Unfinished Sympathy’) and Kasha (remember that hit break-beat track ‘U’?). Check great jazz version of the Go That Deep.

Kaliber – 20.1 (Kaliber)
Not a tipical Kaliber, a Kaliber on hi-leg, soft melodic funky sound. Girls will love it.

U2 – Get On Your Boots (7″) (Universal)
Nostalgia or not, too much techno or what, but I’m getting back to music which influenced me so much in early 90′s (Achtung Baby), back to rock sound. I agree with Bono saying in an interview, “We came with something special”. Album is full of energy, great melodies, serious and not-so lyrics and driving sound (Brian Eno co-authored and produced many tracks). The Edge came with complicated arrangements, changing guitar parts almost every 16 measure. Big inline booklet with texts and photos. Small surprise, No Line On The Horizon on seven-inch is different version, sounds more live and faster (110 vs. 100 bpm on album). Le Gains/Bourg – Ye Ye! (Le Gains & Bourg remix) (Tour Eiffel)
Bootleged remix of Serge Gainsbourg’s Chez Les Yeye, by French producer Minimatic (aka Boogalox), fouder of Tour Eiffel Records. This 7″ was really hard to find, and I’m still looking for another two from Tour Eiffel, Jazz A Gogo/Shake Your T (which is nu-boogaloo Peaches remake, with her famous ‘Shake Your Tits, Suck My D*ck’) and Le Hipe Hope (this time modified Wu-Tang Clan acapella with bossa nova beats)/Made in France. Check this great super uplifting French nu-style bossanova/boogaloo artist.

The Five Corners Quintet – Hot Rod / Shake It / Easy Diggin’ (Ricky-Tick)
Ultra-groovy Jazz from Finland? Yes. No surprise this hot EP was produced by Tuomas Kallio of Nuspirit Helsinki. He managed to combine live jazz band with fast dancy rhythms. You wont believe, but 3 tracks on the EP varies in tempo from 209 to 150 bpm. This jazz is faster than drum’n'bass, but its still sounds as jazz. Great. I yet have to get their 11-tracks album Hot Corner.

Nicola Conte – Jazz Pour Dadine (Schema)
I was always big fan of Nicola‘s Forma 2000 track, and when after years of research I got vinyl, to my big surprise, B-side appeared to be 5/4 tempo syncopated nu’jazz with smooth sax alto improvisations (by Gaetano Partipilo), again, as every here, very groovy and moovy. Could be re-version of famous Just Take Five.

Starting with guitar-looped chords, gently adding some beats and atmospheric keyboards, turns into pure ambient trip. I was afraid to put it on on the party, and when I finally did, the club was already full with early morning sun, it just was so special moment of the party! I had a very positive feedback. Sound is so special and different to everything on the scene… A must have.

Popnoname – Storm (Italic)
My favorite track from the album, super melodic and touching deep in the heart.

Guy Gerber -Timing (Cocoon)
Another timeless classic from Gerber. First tune from him during a year or so. Beautiful and extraordinary.

Matt Star – Kuhle Fliege (Hugo remix) (International Freakshow)
House, funky and groovy, girls love to dance on it.

Butch – Dark Fader (AFU-Ltd.)
Very minimal in sound and pattern, put primitive and danceable groove. Butch says “Back to basics!”

You can call it minimal-pop, but who cares? Mood of American western films, cowboys playing harmonica on a rancho, and their ladies dancing around, isn’t it sweet? Uplifting, positive and with noticeable afro-beat element. We need some fun too.

Allessio Mereu –  Techno Is Brain (Renovatio)
More techno side of the minimal, fast melodic sounds, make slightly more tense mood and drive you into the dance. Different from the rest of the scene (OK its Italy not Berlin:), perfect for peak moment of the party.

Absolute hit, this awesome remix will make dance, sing and think everybody, whether you love Nina already or yet to become a fan. Remix produced so gently, it sounds almost like from 70′s. I mean there’s beats but they don’t dominate, just seat nicely in the mix, it must be on separate release, 7″ would be great.

Doobie Brothers – Long Train Running (Victor Rodsado mix + original version) (East End)
Classic.

Da Wiesel – Shotgun (Sunsetsoul)
Supa funky big beat. Great vocal, a record for the peak of the party. Drums are so loud, I got to make volume a bit down when playing this record, because it so stands out. What the trick they got?

The Bahama Soul Club – Nassau Jam (Buyu)
Continuation of The Juju Orchestra, same style, just kinda next album under another name. Great. Even more live and more rhythm. I love Juju, and this next bunch of traxx just great. From bossa nova, to funk, to jazz, to break beat, great combination, perfectly produced. Crowd love this tunes.

Kinny & Horne – Why Me (Tru Thoughts)
Lyrics of Kinny is full of humor (relations), beats of Horne are full of groove. I love the album and this track is one of the best and works on dance floor.

Adriana Evans – Hey Now (Expansion)
They call Adriana “real R’n'B” . Just lovely, easy going, sexy, pure, deep jazzy song. For a very special moment. Couples get ready!
